In September 2022, we gathered at the vibrant Grind Kona Tiki Bar in Ormond Beach for a fantastic meet-up that combined networking, education, and inspiration. The event was full of positive energy as local women entrepreneurs and community members came together to support one another, share knowledge, and collaborate on exciting new initiatives.

Spotlight Speaker: Lauren La Brie of Dog Mom Pet Services

One of the highlights of our September meet-up was our guest speaker, Lauren La Brie, the owner of Dog Mom Pet Services. Lauren shared her incredible journey of building a pet-sitting business and her passion for caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. Her company primarily serves the mainland side of Ormond Beach, offering top-notch care for pets while their owners are away. From dogs and cats to more exotic pets like birds, reptiles, and small mammals, Lauren’s pet sitting services cater to a wide variety of animals.

Lauren’s talk was both insightful and inspiring, as she offered practical tips for fellow entrepreneurs on how to grow a business rooted in love and dedication to animals. She also shared how she’s been able to navigate the challenges of running a pet sitting business while creating meaningful connections with her clients and their furry (and scaly) companions.

As a business owner herself, Lauren’s story resonated deeply with many of the attendees, reminding us all that passion, hard work, and a little creativity can go a long way in building a thriving business. We’re grateful to Lauren for sharing her expertise and experience with us!

Sisters Build Network Donation Drive Launch

Another exciting announcement at our September meet-up was the launch of the Sisters Build Network Donation Drive! This new initiative aims to gather support from local business owners who are interested in sponsoring a local nonprofit called The Sisters Build Network and their monthly upcoming meet-up luncheons. By providing these luncheons, sponsors will play a critical role in providing a great atmosphere to the young women in that program. The sisters Build Network is a community that provides the tools and resources young urban teen girls need to build successful and fulfilling adult life.

The donation drive is designed to ensure that every girl who attends a Sisters Build Network meet-up can access valuable resources, mentorship, and guidance—at no cost to them. These luncheons will not only create a space for women to connect and grow professionally, but they will also offer workshops, seminars, and personal development opportunities that can empower these girls to navigate adulthood with confidence and strength.

We are currently looking for local businesses and entrepreneurs who want to sponsor this initiative and help us create a lasting impact in the lives of young women in our community. By becoming a sponsor, you will be part of a larger movement focused on supporting the next generation of strong, capable, and resilient women.
