Don Julio’s Mexican Restaurant – Lake Mary
Our Babes, Booze & Business meetup in Lake Mary was definitely an evening full of unexpected twists and turns! Hosted at Don Julio’s Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar, we arrived excited for a night of learning, networking, and, of course, indulging in some great food and drinks. However, what we didn’t quite anticipate was how busy the restaurant would be on that Wednesday night, which led to a last-minute change of plans — we were seated outside on a covered balcony. While the fresh air was nice, it quickly became clear that the weather had a different idea for us…
The Stormy Surprise: A Little Rain Didn’t Stop Us, But…
As our presenters, Twinka Tison and Nancy Hatch, began sharing their incredible stories and expertise, the rain decided to make an unexpected appearance. At first, the soft drizzle was manageable, but as the evening wore on, the rain started to pick up, and soon enough, it was pouring down just as Nancy was showing us the stunning photographs she’s captured for her clients.
In true Babes, Booze & Business fashion, we all tried to make the best of the situation. Twinka pressed on with her presentation about her journey with doTERRA, sharing how essential oils and wellness products have transformed her health and made a lasting impact on her well-being. She talked passionately about how these natural products have given her the energy and tools she needed to manage stress, boost her immune system, and maintain balance in her busy life.
But as the rain continued to pour and started damaging Nancy's prints — which she had beautifully displayed for the group — the decision was made to call it a night. We were all sad to see the event cut short, especially for our amazing presenters who had put so much time, energy, and love into preparing for the evening.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Presenters and the Group
Despite the rain and the hiccup in plans, we want to give a huge thank you to both Twinka Tison and Nancy Hatch for their dedication, insight, and professionalism. Twinka, your passion for doTERRA and wellness was truly inspiring, and we know the women in the group appreciated hearing how these products have made such a difference in your life. Nancy, your photography work is absolutely stunning, and we’re sure that everyone who had the chance to see your prints, despite the rain, left with a renewed appreciation for your talent and the beauty you capture through your lens.
We also want to thank Don Julio’s for hosting us, even though the night didn’t go exactly as planned. It’s always a challenge when unexpected situations arise, but we appreciate their efforts in trying to accommodate our group. The food and drinks were great, and we’re looking forward to future meetups at their location — hopefully indoors next time!
A Lesson in Flexibility and Community
While the evening didn’t go as expected, it was still a reminder of the power of our Babes, Booze & Business community. We roll with the punches, adapt to challenges, and, most importantly, we support each other — no matter what the weather brings. Though we had to cut the night short, the connections made, the stories shared, and the inspiration felt were still very much present.
Thank you to everyone who came out, and we’ll be sure to make up for this one with an even more memorable meetup in the future!
Stay tuned for more exciting events, and let’s keep the spirit of community and resilience alive as we continue to support one another in business and beyond!
