August 2023 Babes, Booze & Business Recap: Resilience, Growth, and Big Wins

August was a month of resilience, creativity, and unforgettable moments for Babes, Booze & Business! Across all our branches, women came together to connect, learn, and celebrate the strength of our community.

In West Volusia, we gathered at Hollerbach’s in DeLand with the inspiring Angie Ruff as our speaker. Angie shared her incredible journey of turning a setback—a fall in her previous company—into an opportunity to buy the business. Today, she helps other businesses streamline their product recipes and create marketable, successful products. Her story reminded everyone that challenges can be stepping stones to growth and that resilience pays off in unexpected ways.

August also tested our flexibility. Our Lake Mary branch at Cork & Olive was double-booked, forcing us to cancel an event for the first time. But our community showed its strength: some of us still gathered for dinner, using the opportunity to connect on a deeper level and enjoy each other’s company. It was a beautiful reminder that the heart of our meetups is people, connection, and support—even when plans change.

We also partnered with the local nonprofit The Locals Mix to host a Music Bingo event at the Daytona Museum of Arts & Sciences. The turnout was incredible, and thanks to the generosity of attendees, we raised most of the funds needed for our 2023 grant! Moments like these show how powerful collaboration and community can be in making a real impact. 🎶✨

August also marked our second Orlando meetup, and the energy was electric! With Chevy’s Tex-Mex as the perfect venue, 25+ women joined to network, share ideas, and celebrate each other’s wins. It’s amazing to see our Orlando branch continuing to grow and thrive, creating a space where women feel supported, inspired, and empowered.

This month reminded us that Babes, Booze & Business is more than just meetups—it’s a community that adapts, grows, and celebrates success together. From resilience in the face of setbacks to record-breaking events and impactful partnerships, August showed just how strong and dynamic our network truly is. We can’t wait to see what September brings! 💃🍷
